The first spring season bout took place on May 12th, 2019 in Graz. The Rolling Rat Pack from Regensburg travelled all the way to play against us Dusties. It was an exciting game for us with a great audience!
We’ve welcomed a few more skaters to the team – some returned from injuries, some from living abroad and we also welcomed new skaters who passed their MST. We’ve trained hard and focused in the months before to prepare for the upcoming spring season.
The sweat and training paid off! The Dust City Rollers were able to win their very first home bout. With 157:106 points, we defeated our wonderful guests from Regensburg. This game would not have been possible if it wasn’t for a lot of people, so we would like to say thank you to our amazing opponents Roller Derby Regensburg, a great group of referees and an awesome NSO-crew, the fabulous Rea Stardust (Roller Derby Ljubljana) for jamming for our team and all the lovely people supporting us at the entrace, announcing, taking powerful pictures and of course our incredible audience!
All in all, we’ve definitely reached a new level for our team, which is very exciting. Hopefullly, we can make use of this momentum and keep on working hard to reach some new goals.
